Autor of pattern - Petr Leonov. At the age of 21, he became the art director of Dulevo and worked there permanently for about 50 years.Coming from the south of Russia, having absorbed the scorching sun of Kuban, and the bright juicy colors of indigenous nature, he conveyed all these in his work. His colleagues called him "furious". Passionate, quick as quicksilver, and restless as a child, he was reputed to be intense in life and art. He was fierce in arguments and conversations, proving right with the quick swing of hands and the glint in his dark olive eyes. He did not simply live but had a fire burning inside, and demanded fire from others. He was true to his slogan "Optimism multiplied by optimism". This motto articulates all his creativity! A legend states that after Soviet-American diplomatic relations were established in November 1933, the first US ambassador, William Bullitt, arrived in Moscow. Thats when it became known that the ambassador was assigned to order a grand banquet service for president Franklin Roosevelt in one of the European countries. At this time, the Chamber of Commerce opened an exhibition of Lomonosov, Dmitrov, and Dulevsky porcelain plants, which the American Ambassador attended. Pyotr Leonov, who knew only two words in English "okay" and "goodbye", showed him the pieces. Leaving the exhibition, Bullitt expressed a desire to order service for the American president there.
Leonov offered to fulfill the order in Dulev and invited the ambassador to the factory. In the spring of 1934, Bullitt came to Dulevo and made a grand order for over a thousand items. Pyotr Leonov managed to complete the order in a record four months in a habitual frenzied manner. The "Golden Deer", which became the hallmark of the factory, is a melody of joy, happiness, and celebration. The painting style is free, uninhibited, the colors are ringing like bells."Before that, I have drawn thousands of deer, " Pyotr Vasilyevich said. And I cannot explain what was different while I was creating the "golden" one. This work was awarded a gold medal at the World Exhibition in Brussels in 1958. Teapot capacity 4,5 liters. For almost two hundred years, Dulevo porcelain has been the source of special pride and admiration for everyone, who has ever come in contact with this wonderful tableware!
